Reception Rooms…

The sitting room is the most magnificent room, perfect for receiving guests or simply getting comfortable in the evening. The ceiling towers above with concealed ambient lighting emanating from the decorative coving that encircles the room. Enjoy roaring fires in the winter months in the fireplace housed in an original Georgian marble surround.

Across the hall is another reception room, more recently used as a family playroom. Here, we have the same ambient lighting within the ornate coving and a gas fire.

The dining room awaits to host dinner parties with your friends or Christmas dinner for the whole family. The same lighting in the coving creates the perfect atmosphere, and there are built-in shelved alcoves on either side of the chimney breast where you will find a cast-iron fireplace housing a gas fire.

The Heart Of The Home…

The kitchen is the place to gather as a family and share the details of your day. Wooden units, painted in white, are topped with solid oak worktops. A central island adds additional workspace and doubles as casual seating. An opening leads into a second kitchen area with a reclaimed quarry tiled floor and further units. Here, there’s a double oven as well as space for a slimline dishwasher and under-counter fridge. A window also offers a pleasant view of the garden, and the original internal bell system is still in place.

At the rear of the kitchen is a traditional pantry with a slate shelf for food storage. There is also a separate utility room with plumbing and space for a washing machine and tumble dryer to keep all the laundry appliances in one place. There is even a storage space in the cellar, an excellent place for your wine collection.

Orangery…

Open from the kitchen area, the orangery makes a marvellous dining space. A built-in window seat with comfortable cushions is set above a warming radiator, ensuring plenty of seating for the whole family. Windows overlook the gardens and the roof lantern bathes the space in natural light. Double doors lead out to the terraced outdoor seating area, a perfect spot to enjoy an al fresco meal.

Beautiful Bedrooms…

Climb the turned staircase and pass the picture windows at the half landing. Here, Albert Hymas chose to have such a large window to see into his workshop and building yard, which was once next door but now offers delightful views over the landscaped grounds of the care home. The landing is spacious and grand and gives access to three of the five bedrooms.

A double bedroom overlooks the rear garden and there is a full en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower, wash hand basin and WC.

At the front of the home is a large bedroom with a fabulous feature fireplace with original vibrant green tiling in the surround. Next, there is another large bedroom with a wonderful bay window. While this is a bedroom, it has more recently been used as the most magnificent home office.

Bathroom Bliss…

The house bathroom offers a moment of luxury. It has a free-standing roll-top bath for sinking into and soaking away your troubles, as well as a wash hand basin and WC.

Into The Eaves…

Two double bedrooms are separated by stud walling in the loft space. It would be possible to remove this wall and create the most magnificent master suite tucked into the loft space. Velux windows pour natural light into the rooms, and there is a shower room with a shower, wash hand basin and WC.
